Christine Detweiler is a native of the Washington, D.C. area. She received the Utah Theatre Teacher of the Year Award from the Utah Advisory Council of Theatre Teachers-- the state's leading educational theatre association. She has directed the theatre program at Syracuse High School in northern Utah since 2018. At Syracuse, Christine has built an award-winning program, recognized at both the regional and state level.
She graduated with a B.A. in Theatre Arts Education K-12 from Brigham Young University. She is currently working on her MFA in Theatre Arts with an emphasis on directing and pedagogy at the University of Idaho. While attending BYU, Christine was nominated for the Irene Ryan award for Best Supporting Actress in the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival for her role as the Goose in "Charlotte's Web."
She completed a choreography internship with Seattle Children's Theatre in the summer of 2017. Christine has directed and choreographed shows for schools and theatre companies across the country in Virginia, Washington State, and Utah.
